Our well has significant coliform bacteria due to all the ranching in the area. I've been buying UV bulbs for nearly a decade with all sorts of experiences.
Let me start by saying that this bulb was very well packed and arrived rather quickly. While I had ordered two (I *always* order a spare) only one was in the package. WFS was very responsive about this and shipped out a second bulb the next day. Thank you for great customer service!
I donned my vinyl disposable gloves and braced for the moment I usually fear: either the bulb doesn't fit in the quartz tube, or, it is defective. Last year I ordered 2 bulbs from a different company. One was defective and didn't light. The other was just a little too large and I know from the school of hard knocks to not force it, otherwise it will break the quartz tube.
I keep a spare quartz tube on hand. Learned that one 3 years ago.
I've ordered from companies that advertize OEM bulbs at a discount but when they arrive it's clear they are third party.
WFS is clear in their advertizing. Service was great and price was excellent.
The bulb lit (I wear a welding helmet to verify) and must be working because we feel fine. This is my new go-to source. -
